SUNY's silicone-based defoamers (or antifoams) are highly efficient chemical additives designed to control, reduce, or eliminate foam in industrial processes. They consist of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) oils combined with hydrophobic silica nanoparticles, emulsifiers, and carrier fluids. The hydrophobic nature of silicone compounds enables rapid foam collapse by destabilizing foam bubbles at the air-liquid interface.
